New Footage From 'Avatar' Found in Japanese Panasonic Ad

A television commercial for Panasonic shares glimpses of several never-before-seen footage from James Cameron's much-anticipated 3-D sci-fi.

More sneak peek to the highly anticipated "Avatar" has been made available for viewing pleasure in a Japanese promo for Panasonic. Around 30 minutes long, the made-for-television preview brings up
a number of fresh footage, presenting glimpses of the adventures Jake Sully experiences while exploring Pandora in his avatar body.

The sneak peek aside, a new image from this sci-fi movie has been put forth by Market Saw. Centering the attention to cast member Stephen Lang, the fresh photo shows his Marine Corps colonel Quaritch character with a futuristic pistol, as well as a gas mask and sheathed knife that are attached to his vest.

First conceived by director/producer/writer James Cameron 14 years ago, "Avatar" underwent four years of actual production work. It centers its story on a wounded ex-marine, who is thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, and eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.

Starring Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, the 20 Century Fox film is supported by Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as botanist Dr. Grace Augustine, Michelle Rodriguez as retired Marine pilot Trudy Chacon and Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge among many others. December 18 will be the date it hits U.S. theaters.
