I've been looking for quite some time for a liquid concealer that will provide as much coverage as my cream concealers. The current concealers I use are MAC Studio Finish Concealer, Studio Sculpt Concealer and Ben Nye Concealers. They are all in cream pot form. I always opt for these types of concealers because they provide the fullest coverage and you can build the coverage easily with it. The problem with these types of concealers though is, they tend to cake because they're so heavy. Lately, I wanted to try something different because I always have a problem with my mascara rubbing under my eyes and creating black smudges. I always powder under my eyes and I even tried switching to waterproof mascaras but it didn't change anything. I figured it may be because the oils in the concealers start to break down my mascara when my lashes touch my under eyes (from blinking, etc). With that said, I started looking up reviews on make up alley for a liquid concealer. And I discovered Lancome Effacernes. It is one of the highest rated. It has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on over 300 reviews, with a repurchase rate of 76%. The rating is about the same for the much higher end Cle de Peau Concealer which has a 4.2 rating with a 76% repurchase rate.
"Lancome Effacernes Provides a complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes."
"The Result: a soft, matte finish."
"Benefits: Waterproof: long wear look that won’t crease or fade."
These are the shades:

REVIEW: First off, let me mention I didn't actually purchase this concealer.. but I got a generous sample from Sephora. So far, I think this concealer is amazing. I had no idea what color to get, and ended up snagging Beige III (Neutral). For reference, I have a medium-tan skin tone and my MAC coloring is NC35-40. This matches me wonderfully. I've been using my MAC concealer brush or my ring finger to apply it in patting motions. I do not sweep or wipe this under my eyes. The coverage is a high medium - buildable o full. It also brightens as well as it conceals. It's not thick or greasy, it has a very milky consistency that stays completely put. No cakiness what so ever. And, I applied my blot powder to set. I've been using this all week. I will be purchasing a full size tube when my sample runs out :) Try out a sample next time you're at a store that carries Lancome!
Here's a little swatch of it compared to my MAC Select Cover up (liquid) in she shade NW25. You can tell that the Lancome has a shine & brightness to it, while the MAC is very flat in color.

Update: The only problem with Beige III (Neutral) is that it has a grey cast to it and makes me look slightly ill unless I use another concealer, or my foundation over it. I ended up purchasing the full size of Light Bisque. It works fine.. but it's a little bit light. I may opt for a differnt shade when I run out.
