'Stifled': X Factor star Cher Lloyd has apparently told Simon Cowell she wants to try and break America in her own way


She has been in Hollywood for only a few hectic days, but as is her precocious way, Cher Lloyd is already ­proving ­herself a ­natural at ­embracing America’s basic starry conventions.

First and foremost, there is, of course, the obligatory wearing of sunglasses (indoors as well as out).

Then there is her new hair colour - bright red, as opposed to her more familiar dark tresses.


Fitting in: Out in Los Angeles yesterday, Cher showed off her tiny figure in a cropped top and jogging bottoms as she went on yet another shopping spree


Oh, and to round off the ‘too cool for school’ makeover, she has also had a large tattoo done on her right forearm (proudly displayed, thanks to rolled-up shirt sleeves).

The end result may have looked like a ­parody of teenage rebellion, but the Worcestershire 17-year-old has pronounced her new look as ‘well sick’.

Which, in street slang, ­translates roughly as being extremely happy with the results.
