Review: E.L.F Studio Translucent Matifying Powder + Photos & Swatches!

Product Description: Achieve even flawless skin that’s smoother, redefined and shine free. This translucent powder works on a wide variety of skin tones to help set your makeup in so it lasts longer. The silky lightweight formula also miraculously mattes skin to diminish oil and shine for a beautiful and healthy look!

Directions: Use the sponge to blend in the powder over the face, neck and décolletage as a setting powder. Reapply as needed throughout the day for a refreshed look.

Review: I purchased this powder a few months back when E.L.F had a 50% off Studio products promotion. The regular price for this powder is $3, so $1.50 was definitely a bargin. The colour is a matte, neutral peachy beige. The consistency is soft to the touch - but not too soft like some lower end products may be. When I blend this over my foundation, it erases any shine present and mattifies my face. I don't like using the sponge applicator that comes with this because the sponge will pick up too much powder and when you use too much of this powder, you can get a whitish cast to your skin and "dull" your face. I prefer using a fluffy powder brush and swirling it around my face (mainly my t-zone) and under my eyes. But, even with a powder brush.. this tends to look powdery on me (mainly on my nose). The mattifying effect isn't that long lasting and I don't even have oily skin. I've read several reviews and especially for those with oily skin stated that this powder doesn't have very good anti-shine lasting power. So for those of you with very oily skin, you may want to steer clear. Also, some have mentioned exactly what I've said that if you apply too much, you can look a little powdery. Although this powder works in the short, and is only a few dollars.. I would not re-purchase this product. For a couple of dollars more I can purchase my favorite d/s powder (Rimmel Stay Matte).

This is a very good represenation of the colour.. (Indoors with a soft flash)

This review was based on my own personal experience in using this product. Everyones skin is different and you may have much better luck with this product than I did. Has anyone tried this? How did you like it??
