Tiger Woods was at the centre of yet another crisis yesterday after his mother-in-law was taken to hospital in the middle of the night.

In the latest dramatic twist, Barbro Holmberg, 57, is believed to have fallen ill after confronting the billionaire golfer over claims that he cheated on her daughter with a string of mistresses.

Paramedics arrived at the scandal-hit golfer's £1.7million Florida mansion after receiving a 911 call at 2.35am.

They treated Barbro Holmberg at the scene before taking her to the Health Central Hospital, in Ocoee, on a stretcher.
She was discharged this evening in a 'good condition' and left the centre in a wheelchair to return to Woods' mansion.
It is believed Mrs Holmberg suffered an anxiety attack after confronting Woods' over the affair claims following a reported row between Woods and Nordegren early yesterday morning.

Earlier reports suggested she had been suffering from acute food poisoning.
Mrs Holmberg, a Swedish politician, was in the States to support her daughter Elin Nordegren through a slew of lurid allegations about Woods' sex life.
She had been staying at the couple's house in an exclusive gated community in Windermere, near Orlando.
The circumstances leading to her collapse are unknown but initial reports indicated the patient was seriously ill and on 'advanced life support.'

Witnesses reported seeing a woman matching Miss Nordegren's description driving behind the ambulance as it travelled to the hospital.
She was at the wheel of a Cadillac Escalade, with a registration similar to the one involved in the golfer's accident last month.
Speaking yesterday afternoon, hospital spokesman Dan Yates confirmed Mrs Holmberg's condition was not serious.

'She is in a wing that helps protect her privacy,' he said, adding that some of her family had been to see her. He would not confirm the identity of her visitors.

Woods and his wife have been in hiding since a flood of claims about his alleged affairs began to emerge.

The tally of women linked to the superstar sportsman has now reached eight and includes a porn star..
A police dispatch log, giving a blow by blow account of Woods' crash, has emerged on celebrity website TMZ.com.
The calls begin at 2.32am on November 27 with the entry 'Blk Escalade vs. Tree... driver on ground unconscious.'
Entries then record Woods being taken to hospital and a phone call in which his agent Mark Steinberg requested a meeting with police to be postponed as the golfer was 'still too sore from the accident'.
There is also a copy of a subpoena for blood test results as the driver is 'suspected of driving under the influence.'
Explaining the reason for the request, Trooper Joshua Evans wrote: 'The driver lost control of his vehicle, crashed and was transported to hospital.'
'A witness stated that the driver had consumed alcohol earlier in the day and the same witness removed the driver from the vehicle after the collision.'
'Also, the same witness stated that the driver was prescribed medication (Ambien and Vicatin).
'Impairment of the driver is also suspected due to the careless driving that resulted in the traffic crash.'
The witness is understood to be Woods' wife, who handed over two bottles of Vicatin, a painkiller, and sleeping pill Ambien, after the accident.
This led to Woods being categorised as an overdose patient, according to TMZ.

The golfer was said to have been struggling to breathe with doctors resorting to using a tube to help get air to his lungs.
Trooper Evan's request for a blood test was denied because of insufficient evidence, prompting questions about whether Woods received special treatment.

Police have said that alcohol was not a factor and merely issued a £100 ticket for careless driving

Drama: Health Central hospital, in Florida, where Mrs Holmberg is being treated

It was claimed last night that Nordegren, the mother of Woods' two young children, had moved out of the property to a nearby house.

However neighbour Jarius Adams denied the reports, insisting: 'She is still here'.

She and her twin sister Josefine are said to have bought a new home in her native Sweden for $2million amid speculation she might move back there.

According to Swedish newspapers she bought Faglaro Mansion, which sits on an island close to Stockholm, with her sister rather than with her husband.
Woods, 33, is still believed to be living in his family home and it is claimed he wanted to keep her departure quiet in the hope he can persuade her to return.
It is not known where the couple's two children are staying.

The latest twists came after two more women were added to the list of the golfer's alleged mistresses.
One of the two further women who came forward yesterday is a porn star named Holly Sampson whose CV includes films such as Lingerie Or Bust and Diary Of A Horny Housewife.

The second is an unnamed cocktail waitress who says she had a two-year affair with the billionaire golfer and claims he told her his marriage was a sham and 'just for publicity'.

They bring the total number of 'Tiger Babes' to eight, although lawyers are believed to be lining up yet further women eager to cash in on the scandal.

Happier times: Woods with wife Elin, whom he married in 2004

Nordegren is said to have purchased a property in Sweden with her sister, sparking rumours she is considering moving home following the affair claims

Miss Sampson, 36, yesterday refused to confirm or deny any relationship with Woods after being named in the New York Daily News.

Michael O'Quinn, who is representing an unnamed 26-year-old, believed to be woman number eight, said that she met Woods in 2004 while working as a cocktail waitress for VIPs at the Roxy Nightclub near his home in Orlando.
Woods was already engaged at the time.
'Her relationship was not a one-night stand,' Mr O'Quinn told the New York Post. 'It was long-term, and it was witnessed by many people in this community. She has detailed knowledge of his life, his habits.'
The waitress is said to have had qualms about the affair after Woods married Swedish au pair Miss Nordegren in 2004, according to the TMZ website.

Woods and his wife went on to have two children - daughter Sam, aged two, and ten-month-old son Charlie.
The well-connected site also claimed last night that Woods even repeatedly tried to contact the first of his alleged mistresses, club promoter Rachel Uchitel, 34, after he crashed his car, telling her he wanted to figure out a way to see her.

The 34-year-old club promoter allegedly claimed Woods pursued her for four months before they got involved and was very 'possessive' and 'jealous'.

Rumours also persist linking Woods with a well-known female British TV presenter, whom he is claimed to have met on his frequent visits to the UK.
The first cracks in Woods' financial empire have also begun to show.
Last night one of his biggest sponsors confirmed it was dropping a drink that he promoted.
Gatorade said it was discontinuing its Tiger Focus soft drink.

The company insisted the decision had nothing to do with the golfer's extra-marital problems.

In a statement, the U.S. firm said: 'We decided several months ago to discontinue Gatorade Tiger Focus along with some other products to make room for our planned series of innovative products in 2010.'

Tiger's alleged 'transgressions' from left to right, top row: Jaimee Grubbs, Holly Sampson, Jamie Jungers, Mindy Lawton. Bottom row: Cori Rist, Kalika Moquin, Rachel Uchitel, and a suspected mystery eighth

And is there a British connection yet to come out of the woodwork?

As the number of women linked to Tiger Woods's infidelities continues to grow, rumours are increasing that it will lead to a British connection.
Although the women named so far are all American, it is strongly expected that the list of lovers will increase.
And since he has been a regular visitor to Britain because of his busy playing schedule, it seemed a strong possibility that someone on this side of the Atlantic had fallen for his charms.
According to the Sun, there are claims that Woods had enjoyed a fling with a well-known female British television presenter.
It quoted a source as saying: 'He would hook up with her when he went to the UK. She's really sexy and very well known. A good friend of mine told me about it years ago.'
The source, said to be a sports marketing executive who had known Woods for years, added: 'Both will be hoping this one doesn't come out. It will take the scandal to a new level.'

The claim was furiously denied yesterday by the woman in question, who insisted there was no truth in what was being claimed.
Woods has been visiting Britain for the Open championship since 1995. He first won it in 2000, and triumphed again in 2005 and 2006.
He had played in 13 consecutive Opens when he was forced to pull out through injury in 2008.
Woods was again here earlier this year for the tournament at Turnberry, where he failed to make the cut for the first time.
He has also played in the World Match Play Championship, held at Wentworth.
Woods also played in the 2002 Ryder Cup at the Belfry in Warwickshire as well as visiting the UK for commercial purposes.
