Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in "Airy Fairy"
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in "Airy Fairy"
Airy Fairy is a lipstick you probably all know about. The particular shade is the most popular of Rimmel's shade selection, as it's a great every day color that is flattering on several skin tones. The color is a pink-mauve with a golden sheen. The actual color is quite "cool" (purple/blue toned) but because of the golden sheen, it's a bit more wearable on my warm skin tone. I stay away from lipsticks with any traces of purple to them, as they do nothing for me - but because of the popularity of this color, I thought I'd take the opportunity to try it out in a recent swap. I'm not too crazy about it alone, but it looks really pretty under a pink lip gloss. The formula is smooth, applies evenly and feels moisturizing on the lips. It is fairly opaque and builds well for full opacity.

Airy Fairy swatched on my hand..
Top: Swatched heavily,  Bottom: Swatched once
Left: Airy Fairy on my Bare Lips, Right: Airy Fairy with NYX Sheer Gloss in the shade Vintage applied over top.
Airy Fairy is rated 4/5, with a 72% re-purchase rate based on makeupalley.com reviews.

Jo, from Jomakemeblush has mentioned this lipstick several times, and it looks gorgeous on her NC40 skintone! Check out her posts where she mentions it, by clicking here.

Do you own this lipstick? Is it a yay or nay for you?

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in the shade Pink Sugar + Photos & Swatches!

Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in the shade Pink Sugar is a sheer, light pink with silver/golden flecks of glitter. The lipstick has a yellow undertone, which is what drew me to purchase it. In the tube, it reminds me a bit of MAC Hue - but a little bit lighter. Swatched next to each other, they are quite different. While Hue is a true "bubble gum" pink, Pink Sugar is more of a "cotton candy" pink - like Nars Turkish Delight.

The biggest disappointment with this lipstick is the pigmentation. It is incredibly sheer, and no matter how many times you swipe it across your lips, it will never look like the color you see when you look at the tube. Also, this lipstick has a lot of glitter, so it feels a little gritty on your lips - which is not something I'm very crazy about. When it's on my lips, I don't find the glitter to be very noticeable. You definitely have to moisturize your lips prior to application because the very light pigment can settle into dry cracks and accentuate your dryness. It has a "glaze" finish, which I really like.

I think this lipstick is best suited for lighter skin tones. It would be a great sheer, nude for those with little pigment in their lips. This may not be the best lipstick for very pigmented lips, as it may wash you out & make your lips appear slightly gray or purple. If you like MAC Underage lipglass, you may like this. I find them to be similar in depth. Underage is a color that really didn't suit my NC40 skin tone, as it made my lips appear gray in color. So after testing it once, I gave it away. This lipstick looks the best on me when I have little to no self tanner on.

Here it is applied heavily to my lips.
I purchased this lipstick from CVS for $6.49, and received $4 in extrabucks. So, it was basically like I paid $2.49.

Have you tried this shade? What did you think of it?

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in the shade Bare Again + Photos & Swatches!

MAC's newly released Sheen Supreme Lipsticks are the new permanent range of lipsticks you can find at MAC. The range comes in 14 different shades. Some shades have a frost finish and the others have a creme finish. I began swatching a few and noticed right away that the consistency is very different than any other one of MAC's formulas. The Sales Associate I was speaking with compared the formula to the Cremesheen formula, but a little bit softer. If you own any Cremesheens, you'll know by now that it's almost inevitable that they will melt, break in half, break from the base, tilt to the side, etc if you don't take the best care of it. Meaning, don't keep it in your pocket (your body heat will melt it), don't forget it in your car on a hot day - better yet, don't even take it with you on a very hot day unless it's in a safe place in your bag. Another thing to take into consideration with Cremesheens, is because of the soft formula you don't want to apply too much pressure when applying it to your lips or it can cause your lipstick to tilt and rub against the sides of the tube - causing a mess.

It seems that MAC knows this by now and creating a new lipstick that is even creamier would be risky. But, they seemed to get the packaging down pact with the Sheen Supremes. The tube is tall and and thin - like an over sized tube of chapstick. Even though you still may have to worry about it melting, the lipstick can't "tilt" because there is no space between the walls of the lipstick tube and the actual lipstick.

Like I mentioned before, this range comes in 14 shades and retails for the same $14.50 price tag of all MAC lipsticks. And actually, there is 0.12 oz of product in this range, whereas regular MAC lipsticks are 0.10 oz. These lipsticks are of course included in the "Back 2 Mac", as I got mine by bringing back 6 empty product containers.

The color I favored the most from the range is Bare Again. Bare Again Sheen Supreme Lipstick is a warm beige-pink that appears like a bright mauve in the tube, but applies slightly rosier. From some of the reviews I have read, someone mentioned it is the exact dupe of MAC's Limited Edition Bare Slimshine. From swatches I have seen, it does appear to look like a close match. Temptalia describes it as "It is rosier than Cherish; slightly lighter than Kinda Sexy; more opaque version of Hug Me." I looked through my lipsticks trying to find a dupe and I tried comparing it to MAC Feelin' Good Lip Conditioner & NARS Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer both were lighter and more pink. The closest color match I found was NARS Chihuahua lip gloss.
The consistency is extremely buttery soft. It reminds me a lot of YSL Rouge Volupte's formula, but I find the Sheen Supreme to be more moisturizing. The color goes on pretty sheer, but it can be built for a more opaque look. I like to swipe the color on my lips several times to build up a little color - or it looks like my natural color. I don't think it is opaque enough to completely block out the color of pigmented lips. I really think this is a great "MLBB" or "My Lips But Better" lipstick. I think it's a great natural color for everyday that you can pop on your lips all day long. I think it's also perfect for those with naturally pale lips and want a very natural color that won't make them look dull. I think it would well suit any skin tone. The finish is slightly shiny - similar to the MAC Lustre formula.
Applied to my bare lips.
Did you purchase any Sheen Supremes? What do you think of them?

Review: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks in Born with it & Pink Please! + Photos & Swatches!

Born with it and Pink Please are extremely similar. They are both light pink - Pink Please is a bubblegum pink with no frost/sparkle and Born with it is the slightest touch lighter and has a very fine, shimmery sheen. In the tubes they both appear to be shiny like a MAC Cremesheen or Lustre.

When I initially purchased these lipsticks, I thought they were going to be warm pinks.. But applied to the lips they are pretty neutral. Pink Please is slightly warmer than Born With It. On my lips, they both appear to be slight lilac pinks. The sparkle in Born With It is barely visible - it just makes the lipstick appear slightly shiny. I could really only tell the difference between the two when I applied them heavily. Applied heavy, Pink Please is definitely bolder. Born with it is a little lighter and natural.

Swatched next to MAC Creme Cup and MAC Way to Love for comparison..
Here is Pink Please on my bare lips.. I toned down the pigmentation of my lips with residue from my foundation brush.
And here are a couple of Born With It (same lighting, different views). I added a little lip gloss in the last photo (LASplash Girl Crush).

Overall thoughts: I still have yet to play around with these shades.. So far so good. I just wish the formula was a little bit thicker and opaque. They are a little sheer.. Yes, they are buildable.. but I have to swipe the color on my lips over and over to get my preferred opacity. I'm not sure yet which one I like better.. I think I like Born With It a little better because it's a little shinier/lighter than Pink Please. I'll most likely be wearing glosses on top of both because alone.. they look a little dull on my lips. I'll keep you guys updated and I'll post a FOTD with these soon :)

Wet n Wild Mega Matte Lipstick in Just Peachy w/ This Too Shall Glass Glassy Gloss! LOVE!

Wet n Wild Mega Matte Lipstick Just Peachy 903C
&
Wet n Wild Glassy Gloss This Too Shall Glass
Wet n Wild's Just Peachy 903C is a creamy, warm (yellow toned) peachy/coral pink. It somewhat reminds me of MAC Shygirl.. but Shygirl is slightly more muted. The color itself is very pretty and I think would be flattering on any skin tone. It isn't pale where it will wash you out, nor is it too bold for those who are use to wearing nudes. There is no scent to this lipstick. It applies very smooth, with lots of pigmentation. The finish is a satiny matte.

The only downside is the terrible packaging. As you can tell, there are identations on the lipstick from the tube. For some reason, these lipsticks get so messy in the tube. I only used this twice so far (since I purchased it last night) and there are already lipstick marks inside the cap. The lipstick itself is not very secure in the tube. With my other two lipsticks, each time I use them.. the lipstick bullet (is that what it's really called? I heard someone refer to it as that.) separates. So far, this one seems a little secure.. but I'm sure as the week passes.. it won't be secure anymore. Once it does separate.. it's fine to apply.. no problems.. but the inside of the cap gets so messy.. and being it's clear.. it's not cute. Also, for some reason.. these lipsticks only say the actual name of them on the clear packaging that you throw away once opened. The bottom of the lipstick only reads the number 903C. I would have no idea this lipstick is called "Just Peachy" if I didn't read the label before I threw it away.

Anyway, the product itself makes up for the crappy packaging. And being it's $2.99 a tube.. and I always see it for 50% off at the drugstores.. I can't complain much. But C'mon Wet n Wild.. I hope you get enough letters to change the packaging!

As for the gloss.. It's very nice. It's a sheer pink with a golden sheen. The color itself is very sheer.. I wish it was more opaque to be worn alone.. but i'll be pairing this up with any of my nude lipsticks. I love the formula. It's not sticky or thick.. watery or runny. It's the perfect smooth consistency..

Top: Just Peachy on my bare lips.
Bottom: Just Peachy with This Too Shall Glass on top!

& a super close up..

Do you own this lipstick or gloss? Love them? Hate them? Post in the comments below! :)

Revlon Just Enough Buff & Smoked Peach + Wet n Wild Pink Suga Lipstick Swatches!

While I was running a quick errand last night at CVS, I took a quick stroll though the cosmetic aisle. I saw that Revlon had a new display with a bunch of new colors and right away I picked up the lipstick with the name "Smoked Peach #013". If you all don't know me by now, I love my peaches and corals :) Anyways, Revlon was buy 1 get one 50% off so I picked up "Just Enough Buff # 613". I think Just Enough Buff is a common lipstick that many people own, like Revlon Nude Attitude... but it never really appealed to me till last night. Also, I've been meaning to do a contouring tutorial which involves a very dark shade of foundation and a very light. Somehow, I lost the light concealer stick I was using before.. so I went over to Wet n Wild and grabbed a couple of concealers in the shades "Light" & "Light Medium". I also ended up getting one of their lipsticks I haven't seen before (It says new shade anyway..) called "Pink Suga #900B".

(Sorry for the not so great swatches..)

Wet n Wild Pink Suga - I don't think the name pink sugar properly suits this lipstick. I didn't find it to be very pink as I found it to be muted, warm peach. It is very pigmented & you only need a couple of swipes for full coverage. It has a matte finish. I could see it drying out my lips, so I would recommend a lip gloss in addition to the lipstick or a lip balm. If you love peaches, I'm sure you'll love this color.

Revlon Just Enough Buff - This lipstick is a little on the sheer side but you can build more coverage with more swipes. It applies smoothly.. kind of like a MAC Lustre and dries to a semi-shiny satin. The color is beautiful. It's a warm, peach pink with bright pink luster. It almost remind me of my HG MAC Shygirl. I'm sure I'll be wearing this lipstick very often. I found the formula to be somewhat dry and will most likely be using a gloss with it.

Revlon Smoked Peach - Wow this is a bright lipstick. haha It's a bright, warm pinkish coral. It is very pigmented and has a matte finish. This lipstick reminds me of a cross between MAC Vegas Volt and MAC Morange. I really like this color.. but I'm sure I'll only be wearing it once in a while. I'm not very daring with bright lipsticks ;)

I haven't tried the concealers yet, but just keep in mind.. they look much darker in the tube than they did on my skin. Light is slightly warmer than Light-medium.. both colors look almost identical.

Do you own any of these colors? What are your thoughts?

NYX Pumpkin Pie!

So, we know I'm a big fan of NYX Round lipsticks. I thought I owned all of the colors I needed to own. BUT, I was completely mistaken. haha! (how dramatic of me) "Pumpkin Pie" was a lipstick I had always planned to get, but never got around to it. If I had thought it was HG material, I would of definitely purchased it a long time ago. It wasn't until a recent post from Jomakemeblush, that I became a little curious. I googled "NYX Pumpkin Pie" and saw a ton of gorgeous swatches. I had no idea how pretty this little lipstick was. Luckily, my ULTA had it in stock! All NYX at ULTA is buy one get one 50% off. The sale goes until this Saturday (June 26th). So for my 50% off goody, I picked up NYX Sheer Lip gloss in the shade "Vintage".

Pumpkin Pie is a creamy, warm pink with the tiniest hint of coral and pink sparkle. It reminds me a lot of MAC Shygirl (all time favorite lipstick).

Vintage looks very coral, almost neon in the tube, but applies as a creamy light pink. It is indeed sheer and smells like grape.

MAC Liberty of London Peachstock & Ever Hip Lipsticks! Photos & Swacthes!

I was fortunate enough to get both shades when they first came out in a swap! A girl was nice enough to go to the MAC counter and pick these up for me to swap for a couple of LE lipsticks I owned.

Peachstock- I was caught off guard when I opened the tube. I always thought Peachstock was a lighter color. I thought it was going to look exactly like NYX Orange Soda, or Myth with a more peach/orange tint. Its definately darker than I thought. I'm going to admit, I got a little nervous and thought it wasn't going to work on me, but it is probably one of the most flattering nudes I own for my skin tone. I highly recommend this shade if you're olive skinned and its hard for you to find the correct nude that won't wash you out or give you the appearance of concealer lips. This is the only Satin formula lipstick that I can wear alone. I don't like the Satin formula.. because I like my lips to look shiny.. and the Satin formula is more of a matte look. Also, it can be very drying if you don't apply a lip balm beforehand. But for some reason, this works for me. I love this lippie, and will most likely be repurchasing!

(I take pictures at funny angles sometimes.. I rotated it, but decided at the last second, I liked it better the way it was.. that's why my name is turned as well)

Ever Hip- I didn't know this was a Cremesheen until it was in my hands. Surprisingly, it applied pretty sheer. I had to apply.. and apply.. and apply. I thought it would be a lot creamier.. I really love the color though. Its a very vibrant coral pink. It looks like Vegas Volt and Shygirl had a love child. haha!

Here are swatches of both shades..

What did you think of these?? What were your favorites in the collection?

Review: NARS Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer + Photos & Swatches!!

NARS Lip Lacquer

Product Description: High shine formula with sheer pigments of color for luscious lips day or night. This super-shiny formula can be worn alone or over other lip products.

-Unique texture prevents color from bleeding
-Transparent pigments with sexy shine
-Use alone or over other lip color
(Source: http://narscosmetics.com)

I chose to purchase Chelsea Girls which is described as a "nude beige".

(the swatch is very accurate)

I would describe the color as a neutral, muted mauvey pink with a hint of warm beige. I was actually very surprised with the texture. It's very thick and applies very opaque. I definitely thought it was going to be more sheer and have the consistency of a lip balm. It has a heavy, slightly sticky texture to the touch, but once applied to the lips it isn't very sticky. On my lips it reminds me a lot of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte #2, but slightly pinker. The color is long lasting (because of the texture) and I think its a pretty universal color that would be flattering for all skin tones. The finish is shiny & it didn't dry out my lips. The only negatives about this product I can think of are, the pot is so small and deep that its sort of a pain applying the product. I have long nails so I can't really use my fingers, so I have to use a brush, which isn't very convenient. Something like the packaging of MAC tinted lip conditioner would work better for me. (A larger, less deep pot) Also, I don't really like the smell of the product. It has a yucky, chemical like smell.. I can't really describe it, but I'm sure everyone has smelled a product that smells exactly like this before. I keep sniffing it to figure out the smell, but its sort of giving me a headache. lol.. Also, since the product is so thick, I can see myself running out of this very quick. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with Chelsea Girls. :)

On my lips...

I got this hoodie for Christmas from my mom.. and I completely forgot about it.. I found it through my piles of clothes today. lol It was like $39 at TJMaxx.

And a back shot. ;)

Finally the Spring is here and the snow is gone! It's so exciting. Its going to reach the 70s this week.. woohoo!

My Lovely Haul! MAC, Inglot, YSL, OPI!!! With many thanks to Sarah (iheartcosmetics)!!

Hi Guys! I have lots of posts to share with you. :) So If I do a million posts today, I apologize but I try to take advantage of my free time by blogging!

I wanted my 1st post to be about the giveaway I won!! I have never won a giveaway, so I was so overjoyed about winning Sarah's 500 Follower giveaway. I couldn't believe all of the nice things I was going to receive!! It arrived a few days ago and it came on such a perfect day because I was in such a sad/upset mood and it really turned my day into an awesome one.

Sarah is such a sweet girl.. It was incredibly generous of her to purchase these things (which are so expensive!) for her bloggers. If you aren't a follower of her blog, you should definitely check it out. She has really good, useful posts about makeup, self tanning, etc. We have very similar (if not the same!) tastes in makeup, so I love reading her new posts. Thank you again, Sarah!! I ♥ YOU!

Here are some pictures and swatches of my winnings!

I opened everything at my desk at work.. She included a very cute, witty card that's displayed on my desk now. lol I LOVE CARDS. I'm very sentimental.

Inglot Eyeshadow Double Sparkle #467
This is a light peach with a golden shimmery sheen. It goes on very light and looks gorgeous as a highlight/ all over lid color or even a highlight for the face. I never actually really heard of Inglot until now. I know the brand really isn't available where I live.

Inglot Nail Enamel #715. I've been looking for a color like this for such a long time! I applied it to one nail, and its gorgeous. It's a milky, opaque mauvey pink. I love this for a neutral look!! Once my current nail polish starts to chip, I'm going to use this and post a NOTD (Nails of the Day).

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté #2. I was especially excited about this lipstick! I've wanted to try these for so long. I held the tube like I was holding a baby. LOL. I had no idea how big the tube is! Its such a large tube compared to my other lipsticks and its so sturdy and heavy. Also, I had no idea there was a little mirror on top of the cap and no idea that this smells like mangos :) yum. This is such a glossy lipstick. It's very creamy and shiny.

MAC Sculpting Powder in Sculpt (Pro). I'm very happy about this item because starting recently, I have been contouring my face. This is a light matte brown that applies light, but you can build the darkness you want. What I've been using up until this point to contour with is Estee Lauder Soft Matte Bronzer.

OPI Alice in Wonderland Mini Set. These colors are so pretty! I can't wait to try them. Especially the blue!

I hope you enjoyed my haul!! Thanks for reading, and don't forget to subscribe to Sarah!
