The actor is fresh from his Golden Globe victory for "Barney's Version" and his latest film, "Win Win", is gaining tremendous reviews in limited release. But the actor is never to be complacent, and it seems that it is ready for the challenge with his next role.
It is reported that Giamatti will join the "Rock of Ages," Adam Shankman's adaptation of the smash Broadway musical that has already attracted Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Mary J. Blige.
The first time said that Giamatti will play "the director of a metal band led by Stacee Jaxx (Cruise)."
But the report also has a name that has not acceded to the stuff "Rock" so far: Russell Brand. Is this a typo, or is Katy Perry is a man ensemble, as well?
We'll know soon. Shankman has "Rock of Ages" in theaters June 1, 2012.
