Demi Moore, Jessica Alba and Renee Zellweger lend support to CNN's Heroes ceremony (but Chilean miners are the REAL stars of the night)

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Better than ever: Demi Moore looked incredible as she walked the carpet at the CNN Heroes event last night in Los Angeles

A-list stars Demi Moore, Renee Zellweger and Jessica Alba lent their support to CNN's Heroes ceremony in Los Angeles last night.

Demi, 48, looked as youthful as ever in a tiny skin-tight blue minidress as she walked the red carpet at the event, which honours everyday people for their heroic actions.

The Charlie's Angels star, who attended without her husband Ashton Kutcher, described the night as a 'powerful evening of hope and inspiration'.

Renee, 41, glowed in a pink satin Caroline Herrera cocktail gown, as she also attended without her significant other, Hangover star Bradley Cooper.

Mother-of-one Jessica Alba, 29, left daughter Honor at home as she posed in an elegant Dolce and Gabbana tea dress with nude-coloured Louboutin heels.

In contrast, 45 year-old Marisa Tomei went for an eye-catching orange outfit as she laughed for the cameras.

Gerard Butler, who celebrated his 41st birthday with singer John Mayer in New York this week, appeared transformed as he'd clearly lost weight.

The 300 actor is currently playing legendary Scottish poet Robert Burns in the new film Burns.

The change in his looks was visible in his face as well as in his svelte physique as he walked into the event in a slim-fitting suit.

Also posing for pictures on the way in were Jon Bon Jovi and AnnaLynne McCord.

AnnaLynne looked especially cosy in the wet November weather, with furry cuffs on her long-sleeved dress.

She seemed happy and smiling, despite her recent split from Twilight star, Kellan Lutz.

But it wasn't only movie and TV stars on the red carpet.

The five Chilean rescuers of the trapped miners were being honoured and were accompanied by the miners themselves.

The Chilean group are on a CNN-sponsored tour of Los Angeles and for most of them this is their first trip outside of Chile.

Once inside the event, which took place as Los Angeles' Shrine theater, the miners must have been thrilled to see the other celebrities who had sneaked in without walking the carpet.

Halle Berry, Kid Rock and LL Cool J were also there to present awards to the heroes.

In what could only have been a surreal moment for the miners and their rescuers, the event's host, CNN presenter Anderson Cooper welcomed them on stage to a standing ovation.

At one point, one of the miners was spotted videoing Jon Bon Jovi on his phone.
Every year CNN honours ten people who have changed the lives of others for the better.
