Glossy Lips

Glossy Lips

By Maria

A simple lipstick with minimum gloss, almost indecipherable, is a passe. A prominently applied lipstick which has a lot of gloss and the ability to make heads turn is the order of the day these days. True enough! I mean why would you apply it if no one can see it (well almost!)! In case you were shying away from putting on some extra shine to your lips and flaunt it, may be reading about glossy lips would perhaps give you a push to do so!

How to Get Glossy Lips

Tip #1
The visual impact is what is most prominently experienced. If your lips look completely out of sync with your complexion, it is going to be a major catastrophe. Hence, choosing the right color when you pick up the lip makeup is extremely important. That includes lip gloss, chiefly along with lipstick and lip liner. Having done that, half the battle is won there. Neutral or light shade, for instance, can give a lovely, natural look. Choose shades which will compliment your complexion well.

Tip #2
When you go for lip gloss, it is also important to determine what is the level of gloss which you can carry off easily. The higher the degree of gloss, the super slick and glossy your lips would look. It is better to take care while applying the lip gloss in this case. You need a very different temperament to carry off the shiniest of the lip gloss for glossy lips. Too much glitter can bedazzle and blind the person in front of you and you would not want that, would you?!

Tip #3
Exfoliating your lips and then applying the lip makeup is essential. If your lips are smooth and then lip gloss is applied on them, they can look absolutely dazzling, specially in sunlight. Hence, compliment your favorite gloss by doing some gentle exfoliation. Ensure that there are no flakes and no dryness for the those perfect shiny and pouty lips!

Tip #4
Another tip which will help get those perfect, glossy lips is to use a lip cream or lip balm daily. These products will prevent your lips from becoming dry and help keep lip makeup in place. In addition to the normal cream, using a sun protection balm can further be beneficial. These things protect the lips from getting damaged on account of weather changes.

Tip #5
Lip liner is inevitable when you want those perfectly kissable lips and woo your man. Let the lips look soft and plump by cranking up the color by lining the lips with the liner and then filling your lips using a lip pencil corresponding to the shade of the liner. Finally, for glossy lips apply the lip gloss on top of the liner. Start at the center of each lip and then feather out. The best part about using a lip liner is that first, it enhances the gloss brought about by the lip gloss. Moreover, it helps the gloss to stay longer and helps give appearance of fuller lips.

Tip #6
Avoid using thicker and intense hues in lip gloss as they might lead your lips to be dry as moisturizing lip gloss is not always available. May be you can try putting a speck on the lower lip in the center and then rub your lips together or consider spreading it using a brush to avoid a goopy look. If you think it is too much still, use a tissue to blot the extra gloss. A similar thing you can do is hunt out an eye shadow which will go with your lip color and then put it in the area where the upper and lower lip join together.

Ultimately, before you call it a day, carrying the glossy lips for most part, cleaning it up properly is a must using cleansing lotions and moisturizers and other lip careproducts.

See? Glossy lips are not really a difficult proposition and can easily be attained with a bit of care ad conscious efforts. But make sure you do not go over board or else rather than kissable lips, you would have 'killable lips'!

Beauty Basics Tips

Despite the media coverage of makeover reality shows, the majority of Americans are not looking for extreme transformations. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, most of us want to look better, naturally, with 68-percent preferring a subtle change. And experts agree that looking your best could be accomplished at home for considerably less.

Dr. Linda Franks, a leader in the specialized skin care frontier, says "To get that timeless, healthy look you need to start with an appropriate skincare regime. Taking good care of your skin can stave off fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and even dry skin."

Doctors say whatever your skin type, the key is to cleanse it gently.
-- Avoid hot water and use lukewarm instead, to prevent over-drying.
-- And throw in the towel – traditional washcloths are too abrasive for the face, so use your hands and fingers.

Sixty-eight-percent of women claim to have sensitive skin which means dry, tight, chapped or easily irritated skin.
-- Moisturize regularly.
-- Avoid harsh cleansers with ingredients such as fragrances, dyes and preservatives because sensitive skin is easily damaged and takes longer to recover.

If your skin is dry and easily irritated, don’t wash more than once a day. You may risk stripping the skin of its natural oils.
-- Look for non-irritating cleansing washes that are soap-free.
-- Use light, oil-free, water-based moisturizers to help maintain the skin’s natural barrier.
-- Make sure to choose a facial moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15, which protects against both UVB and UVA rays.

Skin sensitivity may also result from the third most common, non-surgical skincare procedure known as Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a quick and easy, non-invasive procedure that helps to reveal healthier-looking skin by sweeping away dead skin cells.
-- Dr. Franks reveals that, following the treatment, the best way to avoid irritation is by opting for an ultra-gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
-- A new clinical study shows that PURPOSE gentle cleansing wash and dual treatment moisture lotion with spf 15 are compatible with this procedure.

How else can you obtain optimal skin health? Dr. Franks says, "Exercise opens up blood vessels to make skin look healthy and youthful. It’s so important for healthy skin."
-- Regular cardiovascular exercise increases blood flow to the skin which assists in collagen production.
-- Maintaining muscle mass through exercise can also help anchor and support skin, keeping it taut.
-- And drink up! At least eight, eight-ounce glasses of water a day are crucial for optimal skin hydration.

So before you sign on for an extreme and expensive makeover, just think back on some simple, beauty basics! You just might like what you see!

Teen Fashion – Getting Ready for Spring

teen fashion model

Your teen does not have to be a teen fashion model to look and feel great. All parents of teenagers know how important fashion is to them. Each teen has his or her own individual style. Some love to follow the latest trends, while others have a fashion sense all their own. Here are a few of the hottest fashion trends for teens this spring:

Floral Prints

The femininity of floral prints is often seen in the spring. Large and mid-sized floral prints are all the rage for both teens and adults this season. Dresses are the most obvious place for them, but they can also be found on shirts, jackets, pants, and handbags.

Floral prints also provide a great way to introduce color without wearing it from head to toe. White or neutral backgrounds are unobtrusive, yet when you add some brightly colored flowers to them, it really makes them pop.

The Little White Dress
The little black dress is a perennial favorite, but one of this spring's most notable trends is the little white dress. Whether it's a simple A-line or a cute little crocheted number, the little white dress is versatile and easy to accessorize. You can also easily add some punch to it with some brightly colored jewelry and shoes.

White is also a hit for the prom, for both boys and girls. White dresses and tuxedos are quite elegant, and they can be accessorized with virtually any color. If all white is too intimidating for your teen, there are some nice black and white options for the prom.

Belts and accessories

Belts are a big deal this spring. Skinny belts are making a comeback in a big way, but big, thick belts are a favorite as well. Both are being paired with dresses to slim and draw attention to the waist.

Patent is popular in accessories, and belts are no exception. A shiny patent belt can add lots of interest to almost any outfit. You can find these belts in a variety of colors, not just black and white.

Sheer Fabrics

Sheer fabrics have been all over the runways this season. There, they leave little to the imagination. In real life, they are great for layering with solid pieces.

Sheer jackets or button-up shirts in vivid prints look great with coordinating solid-colored tank tops. Scarves are also a hit this spring, and there are lots of lovely sheer ones to choose from.

Lots of Silver

Finally, silver is one of the most popular colors of the season. There are plenty of ways that teens can incorporate it into their wardrobes. Jewelry is one of them, but not the only one.

Metallic fabrics are both trendy and elegant, and they can be found in everything from dresses to outerwear. Shoes and handbags are also great in silver, and they complement the season's neutral colors very well. Even belts and scarves in silver tones can add some shine to an ensemble.

A second instalment of New Look’s autumn 10 menswear for you today and as you can see the high street multiple has done a cracking job of interpreting the season’s key themes.

As we noted yesterday, workwear, thrift store and US collegiate looks are all in the mix. Outdoorsy themes from the Rockies to English countryside are also in there and look out for those Aztec panels and Cowichan blanket patterns.
It’s not just historical or geographic themes that fill the rails of a commercially minded high street player though. Check out the slouchy jersey T-shirt and the oversized military outerwear.
