Hair Straightening Tips

Straightening Hair Tips

Here are some tips on hair straightening.

  • Use a mild shampoo and strong conditioner so that the hair is well protected. You must keep off from any heat -styling tools so as to prevent any damage to the hair. Regular deep conditioning of the hair can give it a healthier bounce and shine. Use good detangling products and wide -toothed comb for the hair after a straightening treatment.
  • Who want to add a bit of shine - Add a drop of silicone serum and watch the tresses bounce. A little care will go a long way in maintaining the straightened tresses.
  • If you are using a straightening iron to straighten your hair, use it with care, and use it sparingly. It can be very damaging if used often.
  • Blow-drying Hair Straight - Always use a protective product when styling your hair straight. Good tools are essential - use a blow-dryer with a strong air flow, not just a very hot one. If blow-drying hair straight regularly, use a treatment, weekly, to prevent your hair from drying out and frazzled ends.
  • Having your hair colored and using a straightener could result in damage to your hair. It's not that either of these are dangerous or damaging by themselves, but when they are combined, they can be simply too much for your poor old hair to handle.
  • Try booking a consultation with a straightening specialist and getting an opinion on whether a straightener would work with what is already on your hair. A professional hairdresser will often take what is called a "test strand" (basically a clipping of your hair) and pop it in to a bowl with the chemical straightener to assess its ability to remain in good condition. If the result is that you should not try this on your hair please take this advice.
  • For a temporary blow out of straight hair, the most effective way for a perfect finish is to apply straightening balmto each section as you go. A large paddle brush will give you poker straight hair, and a round brush will give you a softer curved finish.
  • With the most hair straightening products on the market today you can't permanently relax or straighten your hair if:
    • It has been permanently colored/tinted with a high volume strength peroxide or bleached. Even if only a little is left in the ends of your hair you will need to have it cut out first! Semi or non-permanent colors do not affect the ability to straighten hair chemically.
    • You swim in chlorine water often
    • You have fine blonde hair. It can be done but can look dry and damaged and frizz easily.
  • For people with wavy or slightly curly hair that want it straight but still healthy:
    1. Wash with a regular shampoo that will remove buildup or at least prevent it.
    2. Use a good conditioner that won't weigh hair down but still will condition it.
    3. Once out of the shower, wring hair out until it doesn't drip anymore, then dry as much as possible with a towel.
    4. Apply a little bit of straightening gel before blow drying and in between towel drying.
    5. Blow dry by taking sections at a time and with a flat brush- it takes a while to master exactly how to straighten accurately but it's worth it.
    6. Use a little bit of gel or cream or something to keep it straight and non-frizzy.
    7. It should last for about 2 days, depending on temperatures.

choosing hair color

for your skin tone search hair color in this page search bar

example: hair color for dark skin

you have a great base hair tone, you're better off with highlights. You don't want to mess with nature; what you want to do is enhance it. If your base color washes out your skin tone or is "blah," consider single-process color. Single-process color is cheaper than highlights.

Highlights look best when the stylist uses at least two different shades. Ask for more around your face, they can brighten your complexion.

Keep in mind that due to root growth, all-over coloring will need to be touched up every four to eight weeks, while highlights can last up to two or three months, depending on what kind you get. Ask your stylist about a gloss treatment following your color. Gloss boosts color and makes hair shinier.

Hair Color Tips

  • When choosing hair color keep your skin color in mind. If you have a light complexion you want to be mindful of using very dark hair colors, it may draw color out of your skin.
  • Virgin Remy means the hair has not been processed or colored in any way. Adding highlights to virgin Remy hair has beautiful results.
  • Off black is the best combination of natural black/brown colors and suit almost everybody. Off Black is also known as "natural color."
  • If coloring your hair for the first time, it's best to have it done by a professional. We dont recommend trying it yourself for the first time
There are basically 4 types of highlights: basic foil highlights, baliage or "hair painting," chunking or "piecing" and lowlighting.

Foil highlights add strands of color to hair. You can get up to 5 different shades in hair to make it look more natural.

Baliage, or "hair painting," allows the stylist to add natural stripes of color to hair in large or smaller swaths. This is best for women with a great base color who want to go just a couple shades lighter. You won't need to get roots touched up as much with baliage as you do foils.

Lowlighting allows the stylist to add darker shades to hair. This gives color more contrast.ray hair can be resilient to hair dye because of its coarse texture. If your hair is less than 15 percent gray, opt for a semi-permanent color that's a shade lighter than your natural color (or matches your color).

Many women who are more than half gray opt to dye their hair blonde. For more information on coloring gray hair, check out this Q&A with stylist Antonio Gonzales of Eva Scrivo in NYC.

Hair Care

Chocolate Brunette Hair Rinse

This rinse will not ruin your highlights but instead will make your brown color deeper and more vibrant. Do not use a coffeemaker to prepare the rinse, as the concentration of coffee won’t be strong enough.

How to Straighten Your Hair

Are you tired of a constant combat against your frizzy hair? Do you want to have straight sleek hair? Then this article is for you.

nice-sleek-hair

Before you start the process of making your hair straight you have to purchase a quality flat iron.

If you have very long hair you can opt for the wider paddle flat iron but remember that thinner flat irons will provide you with more flexibility and it will work both on long and short hair styles.

The next thing you should invest in is a protective spray that will smooth and soften your hair while you flat iron. This isn’t mandatory, of course, but it will help greatly.

When you have all necessary items ready for straightening your hair you can start the process.

1. Wash your hair and condition it the way you normally do. Use a deep conditioner or leave your regular one on for a few more minutes than usual as flat ironing hair can dry hair much.

Dandruff

Dandruff is an annoying and embarrassing scalp condition.

The scalp sheds off an excessive amount of dead cells. It is accompanied by itching and can spread to the eyebrows, neck, and shoulders. What causes dandruff cannot be exactly pinpointed. However, there are external and internal triggers related to the appearance of dandruff.

Internal causes are pinpointed as poor diet, stress, hormonal imbalance, allergies, heredity, and physical exhaustion.

External causes are weather conditions, improper use of hair care products, and infrequent or insufficient hygiene practices.

The discovery of fungi that thrives on the scalp has led to the development of better scalp and hair care formulations that have shown to be effective in minimizing or controlling dandruff; and despite the several anti-dandruff shampoos available, there is no cure for the condition. It can only be controlled or minimized.

Best Methods to Grow Long Hair

There are lots of methods to follow in growing long hair. Some of them are as follows

haircare
Shampooing

When shampooing, wet your hair by putting your head under the stream of water and work the water into the hair with straight downward strokes. Pour the shampoo into the palm of your hand, not onto your head, and begin working it into the ends of your hair, moving up toward the crown of your head. Do not scrub at your hair or bunch it up on the top of your head.

When you are ready to rinse, put your head under the stream of water and work the shampoo out of your hair with straight, downward motions of your hands. Keep the hair straight and untangled at all times. (Always make sure you have no tangles in your hair before you get into the shower to shampoo.)

Follow the same downward techniques when gently drying your hair with a towel. Wet hair is very fragile. Pat or squeeze your hair dry with an absorbent towel and then allow the hair to air dry. Avoid wrapping your wet hair in the towel or pushing it up in a turban. Let it hang drown as it dries, perhaps sitting in front of a gentle heat or air source. (Always be aware of where your hair is and never allow it to wander into a heater or fan. Longer hair requires you to be more attentive to your surroundings for your own safety sake.)

Variations in Hair Growth & Hair Types

There are several variations in the hair growth pattern of people all over the world. There can also be differences in the normal hair growth rate due to various climatic conditions.

The hair of every individual is different from that of the other. While the racial differences in the facial features are quite apparent, differences like texture of the hair require a detailed observation to identify.

Tips For Naturally Beautiful Hair

Looking for a more natural approach to hair care? Here are some tips to help your hair look and feel its best.

1. Avoid shampoos that contain sodium laurel sulfate, or sodium laureth sulfate. These chemicals are synthetic detergents that are used in dishwashing liquid and other cleansers. They are valued because they lather well, but they are very harsh, and can dry out your hair. Instead, look for shampoos made with decyl glucose, or decyl glucoside, which are much gentler.

2. Give yourself a hot oil treatment to deep condition your hair. Warm oil penetrates the hair shaft making the hair more flexible and giving it shine. This can also help to prevent split ends which result from dry hair.

3. Eat right and consider taking vitamin and mineral supplements
to encourage healthy hair. Several vitamins and minerals have been shown to help hair growth and condition including biotin, vitamin E, vitamin B, vitamin C and MSM.
