Not an umbrella in sight... Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon smile in a downpour as LA gets drenched

Even some of the biggest stars can get caught out in the rain.

But it didn't seem to bother down-to-earth actresses, Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon, as they both braved the wild and wet weather conditions in Los Angeles today.

While the Californian city is famous for it's eternal blue skies and sunshine, in the last few days, LA has seen one of it's biggest downpours in years.

The rain started to come down on Friday and is expected to carry on right through until Thursday, just days before Christmas.

But it hasn't seemed to have hampered these ladies' plans.

Jennifer and her daughter Seraphina were spotted leaving Disney on Ice: Let's Celebrate, at the Staples Centre in downtown Los Angeles today.

The 38-year-old actress was smiling as she manoeuvred her little girl through the crowds back to her car.


No umbrella needed: the down-to-earth actresses were happy to venture out in the Sunday showers


Shielding Seraphina from a drenching, Jennifer made sure her pride and joy was bundled up for the blistering cold.

But when it came to her own wardrobe choices, it seems Jennifer wasn't quite bothered by the wintry conditions.

Dressed in a a pair of jeans and a flimsy checked shirt, there was not a coat in sight for the actress who had simply thrown a scarf around her neck in an attempt to keep warm.

On the other side of town close to Beverly Hills, it was a different story, as fellow actress Reese Witherspoon was obviously feeling the chill.

The 34-year-old sensibly covered herself up from head-to-toe in a rain-proof coat, a pair of boots and a bright red scarf.

Reese emerged from doing a spot of shopping at Ralph Lauren into the pouring rain.
The mother-of-two also did not seem fazed by the wet conditions as she walked to her car smiling.
