But it seems that the pop star has taken the 'death' to heart, visiting Chanel in Madrid dressed like a corpse.
Her face painted white, lips black, the singer wore a black beaded veil as she perused the handbags and designer clothes in store.
But it didn't look like Gaga would be trying many of the beautiful clothes on.
She completed her look with a full body leather and metal stud outfit, which looked like it might have taken a few hours to wriggle into.
Like Kim Kardashian she has joined Alicia Keys' digital death campaign - in which celebrities give up online ways of communicating with their fans - such as Twitter and Facebook - until they have raised $1,000,000 for charity.

Gaga seems to be feeling the pain of her self-imposed exile, however, with her morbid shopping outfit.
She also added a photo of herself in a coffin to her Facebook page, writing: 'No more updates little monsters until we buy life.'
