NOTD: ULTA Flamingo! And tips for softer hands and cuticles!

This is my favorite summer color at the moment! ULTA "Flamingo". They are $5 each and there are always sales on ULTA cosmetics. I got it buy one get one free a few days ago. And plus you can always print a $3.50 off $10 coupon on the website.

This is just one coat of polish with a top coat. I have really cracked cuticles that need fixing =\ I dread going to the nail salon when I have bad cuticles because they start to snip them and it makes me cringe!! To fix cracked cuticles, just rub petroleum jelly, shea butter or a heavy cream into your cuticles at night, and sleep in gloves (they sell cotton gloves for this at many beauty supply stores. I've seen them at ULTA. They're called Spa Lotion Gloves or Moisturizing Hand Gloves) so it doesn't wipe off in your sleep.. and really penetrates your cuticles. You should see a difference within a few days. And did you know that washing your hands with hot water dry out your cuticles? Washing your hands with warm water is better. And, Here are some at home mixtures you can make for softer hands:
  • Slough off dead skin cells by making a solution of sea salt and lemon. Use an old toothbrush and rub this solution into your hands. Doing this twice a week, will not only soften your hands but will get rid of any discolorations, as well.
  • Make a paste of one spoon of sugar, lemon juice and fresh cream. Rub it into your hands till the sugar dissolves. You can be sure, you’ll have soft hands that are the envy of all.
  • Brown sugar mixed with olive oil is useful in cleaning grimy hands and getting rid of rough skin. Massaging this mixture into your hands and then rinsing off thoroughly ensures hands as soft as a rose petal.
